These are not your run-of-the-mill orthopedic injuries. Interactive case studies will be used to address the critical aspects for identifying Malgaigne, Pipkin, Chance, Jefferson, and Salter-Harris fractures. Once identified, there are important clinical considerations EMS providers need to be aware of to properly manage these injuries.

- Participants will be able to recognize common mechanism of injuries associated with Malgaigne, Pipkin, Chance, Jefferson, and Salter-Harris fractures.

What makes me qualified to present this topic?
- Lead Instructor for one of the largest accredited paramedic programs in the Rocky Mountain Region. Have refined and cultivated this presentation by teaching this subject within our curriculum to over 70 paramedic candidates annually.
- The case studies within this presentation are patients I personally treated and followed through their hospital course. I learned valuable information in relation to patient presentation and EMS management strategies that should be shared with other EMS professionals.
- Published an article on this subject for EMS1.com in October 2019.
